Plantar Fasciitis: Symptoms and Treatment Options

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain. It affects the strong band of tissue running along the bottom of the foot and may cause discomfort during walking, standing or exercise.

Symptoms are often worse during the first few steps in the morning or after sitting for a long period. Common contributing factors may include increased activity, prolonged standing, tight calf muscles, unsuitable footwear or changes in foot movement.

Treatment depends on the individual and may include activity advice, mobility exercises, manual treatment or shockwave therapy where appropriate.

TOP Chiropractic Acupuncture provides assessment and treatment options for foot pain and plantar fasciitis from our West Ryde clinic.
