Your First Visit — Here's What to Expect

Starting care at a new clinic can feel uncertain. This page walks you through exactly what happens — from your first phone call to your care plan — so you arrive ready and confident.

Your First Appointment

Understanding your condition, creating clarity and planning the right approach for your care.

01

Initial Consultation (Visit 1)

Complimentary Consultation

Your care journey begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Don. This is your opportunity to discuss your concerns, symptoms, health history and any challenges you are currently experiencing.

Dr. Don will take the time to understand your situation through thoughtful questions and a detailed discussion. The priority during your first visit is making sure you feel listened to, understood and comfortable.

Comprehensive Examination

Following your consultation, a detailed examination will be performed to understand your condition and how it affects your overall function.

✓ Postural assessment ✓ Neurological testing ✓ Orthopaedic examination ✓ Chiropractic assessment

We assess your body as a whole rather than focusing only on the area where you experience pain. Your spinal health and overall movement are connected.

If required, spinal X-rays may be recommended to gain a clearer understanding of your spinal structure. X-rays are taken off-site and are bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders.

Depending on your assessment, treatment may or may not be provided during your first visit. Standard treatment fees apply where treatment is provided.

02

Report of Findings (Visit 2)

At your second appointment, Dr. Don will explain your assessment findings clearly and answer any questions you may have.

If X-rays were taken, your images and results will be reviewed with you so you understand what is happening and why.

You will understand:

✓ What is contributing to your condition ✓ Why your symptoms may be occurring ✓ How we can support your recovery ✓ What your expected recovery journey may involve

We will discuss suitable treatment options, including chiropractic care, acupuncture or a combined approach, along with all associated costs upfront. There are no hidden surprises.

Together, we will create a personalised care plan based on your goals, condition and lifestyle.

Ongoing appointments focus on treatment and progress tracking through regular reviews and reassessments.

If chiropractic or acupuncture care is suitable, your first treatment session may begin following your examination and report.

Every treatment approach is tailored to your comfort, preferences, body type and individual condition.

If we determine another healthcare professional would better support your needs, we will recommend the most appropriate referral pathway.
